J loved the noisy and colourful arcade games and the endless novelty items displayed in the souvenir shops throughout the market. After exploring the zoo, make your way back to the Taipei Zoo MRT Station where the scenic Maokong Gondola cable car departs. The 30minute glass bottomed cable car is a hit with kids as is the quaint mountaintop village of Maokong known for its tea plantations and tea shops. From toilet-themed restaurants to colourful temples, stunning nature and awesome day trips, there’s plenty to squeeze into 4 days in Taipei.

The local government should put more efforts on decorating the station with more local cultural features to make it more outstanding and unique to attract more people. The surrounding environment indeed is gorgeous but lack of local cultures. Nearby tribes can also try something to make it more spiritually attractive. Sightseers looking for the perfect souvenir to take home should consider a local snack like sweet potato chips or a dessert flavored with roselle berries or lily petals. Most souvenir stores in Taipei have souvenirs priced NT$50–300. Stores that sell handmade goods are the most expensive souvenirs you’ll find. If you’re going to Taichung City, get these cakes there instead. Because that’s the birthplace of this delicious maltose wonder. Supermarkets like PX Mart and Carrefour are the best places in Taipei to find cheap snacks.
Ovens used to only be covered in slates of rock, but iron pans have become increasingly popular to make cleanup easier.
